Comment: They set up their Christmas racks in early Nov and we found a big inflatable nativity set; we bought it on the spot. We set it up in December and it wasn't up for 1 HOUR before a passerby stopped his car and asked where we bought it; we told him and he said he was driving directly to Home Depot to buy his own. Nice job guys.

Comment: Used the phrase "Here the sounds of December 25th" in a TV ad. December 25th is Christmas; obviously Home Depot shies away from using the term Christmas. If you cant respect the holiday Home Depot by using its name, dont patronize me for my Christmas dollars.

Comment: All of the TV ads I've seen so far, for 2009, talking about gifts, refer to them as "Holiday" this and "Holiday" that. The word "Christmas" is not mentioned and I don't recall seeing it written either. Remember, there would be no "holiday" if it were not for the birth of Christ, ergo Christmas, as in Christmas presents, trees, cards, etc.

Comment: I work for Home Depot, and I have been noticing over the last eight or more Christmases how that Home Depot used to play all types of Christmas songs on the overhead system. Then Home Depot started playing songs referring to Christ only as instrumentals, while Santa and other songs were actually sung. Then they completely eliminated any and all songs having any reference to Jesus Christ.

Comment: We went to Home Depot today and they were playing Christmas music that actually had the words Christmas in it and I noticed it right away. Was very happy about that. And last year, when we were shopping at the same store they were calling the trees Christmas trees rather than holiday trees. We were delighted! In some stores when you say Merry Christmas to them they don't even know what to say! How sad!

Comment: At our local home Depot, they have a large 'Christmas' display, and offer Christmas trees for sale. However, in the entire display, the only item that relates to the Nativity - other than the generic angels and stars - is a huge inflatable manger scene. Better than nothing, but it would be nice to see some indoor ones for the mantel or under the tree, or maybe some more tasteful outdoor decorations. They've improved, but they've got a long way to go.
