Comment: While visiting in California Christmas week, I stopped in Macy's. I was almost ready to make a purchase when I heard a clerk say "Happy Holidays". I then decided to look around the first floor of the store and I could find nothing that said "Christmas" or showed in any way the real meaning of Christmas. I left without making a purchase.

Comment: I worked at Macy's and found it to be very friendly towards religious holidays of the major faiths. As a Christian, I grew by being exposed to coworkers and customers from many different faiths. One of my best friends was a devout Muslim who put my prayer life to shame. She was allowed to go for daily prayers into a fitting room. I would have been given the same courtesies , and I found tremendous respect for all there. I often told customers to have a blessed day, and people really responded well to that.

Comment: Every clerk that I spoke with was very friendly, helpful and courteous. When wished a Merry Christmas they responded with Merry Christmas to you too. There were those who initiated the greetings then I reponded with Merry Christmas to you also. Very helpful and friendly store. Love shopping there.

Comment: I was standing in the check out line watching the clerk help the next customer. She had changed her mind on an item and the clerk very patiently helped replace the item with another. The customer thanked her for her kindness and for not making her feel like she was holding everyone up. The sales person remarked that Christmas was her favorite time of year and she wanted to help make her holiday special. They hugged each other and said Merry Christmas! I couldn't help but to smile.

Comment: Merry Christmas! I've shopped at several stores and Macy's appears to be the best. When I pay for my goods, I say Merry Christmas with a smile and some clerks respond either "same to you", Happy Holidays, or Merry Christmas! It is up to us as Christians and believers in the baby Jesus and his sacrifice for us to say Merry Christmas, we cannot change the world but we can stand proud and unashamed in believing in him. Comment: I was shopping on-line and saw many references to "Holidays" and "Believe" among the various catalogs. There are several allusions to Santa, but the only holiday actually referenced is "Hanukkah". They seem to have forgotten the reason for the season for most Americans is Christmas.

Comment: I shopped for over 2 hours today and interacted with at least 6 sales people for 5 minutes or more each. There was nice Christmas music being played, I saw 4 different versions of tabletop nativity sets for sale along with santas, angels, and the rest. The most beautiful thing about my visit to Macy's was that I live in Silicon Valley, one of the most diverse regions in the USA and nobody had any issues with "Christmas" as far as I could tell.

Comment: The Magic of Macy's Believe catalogue arrived Monday with references to traditional Christmas things- trees, ornaments, Santa Claus, etc. The only mention of CHRISTMAS is gift card on the back cover and when showing a "Christmas angel ornament". Macy's what is so wrong with acknowledging that December 25 is CHRISTMAS? Your store is closed CHRISTMAS! The majority of your customers celebrate CHRISTMAS. And your employees celebrate CHRISTMAS. AND the majority of your sales are for CHRISTMAS! Why can't you call it by its name?

Comment: Tonight I was at Macy's in Roosevelt Field, Long Island, and I asked one of their employees if they carried Nativities to display on the front lawn of the house; they did not have any with the rest of the display of Christmas decorations. The employee did not even know what a Nativity was. I explained to her what it was, she went to a hidden place to get a small nativity. I left dissapointed.

Comment: Macy's Lighting of the Great Tree in Atlanta not only had "Merry Christmas" posted across the stage where performers were singing but actually lights the Christmas Tree on top of the Lenox Square store to the singing of "O Holy Night". This has been an Atlanta tradition for over 50 years and Macy's seems to be committed to continue. Thanks go to Macy's for standing up for Christmas in Georgia

Comment: Macy's used the word Christmas in several locations, gift cards, displays, etc., and the clerk was very Christmas friendly, but also let us know that they were not supposed to say Merry Christmas as a greeting, and she told us to note that they Christmas songs that they were playing did not include any traditional Christmas songs (songs that have to do with the birth of Christ) like Silent Night, Away in a Manager, etc..

Comment: My husband and I arrived at Macy's at the Mall of Georgia around 5:30am on Black Friday. As we started up the escalator, a Macy's employee greeted us and other shoppers with a very friendly "Merry Christmas!". He was not shy or quiet about it either. It was a very refreshing experience after hearing so many negative and discouraging comments about retail stores. Thank you Macy's for being unashamed about the real meaning of the season. Comment: I remember all the year as a kid going Christmas shopping at 34th Street NYC Macy's it was all ways an experience to set off Christmas.I have been living in Atl. now for 5 years and have beet to Macy's at Stone Crest Malland there is nothing besides the regular decorations and sale items to indecate that its Christmas, and the same holds true for 34th street NYC.

Comment: I was looking for a Christmas Sweater and told by a clerk that they had not carried Christmas Sweaters for some time. I was disappointed. They used to have sweaters depicting the "Silent Night", the Three Kings, etc. I find I frequent the store less and less frequently.

Comment: Using the word "holiday" instead of Christmas and one of this retailers was Macy's eventhough I like Macy's but the fact that they were not supportive of what is obviously the truth that Christmas and this "HOLIDAY" is about the birth of Christ the LIGHT of the world the HOPE of the world. Without Him there is no holiday. Since this incident I hardly go to Macy's or for that matter any stores that does not recognize Christmas I will find another store that does and go there instead.
