Comment: I have been in Pier 1 Imports twice this week and have spoken to 4 different staff members. While extemely happy and friendly, I have looked each in the eye and wished them a "Merry Christmas." Each smiled and said "have a nice night".

Comment: After Christmas shopping all day at various retailers I ended my day at Pier 1 Imports. With a Merry Christmas to all sales people I encountered and a "you too" reply ended with the young lady at Pier 1. She quipped a quick Happy Holiday and I responded with Merry Christmas- dead silence, a glare and not a single word. Though they are decked with lots of festive glitter Pier 1 is so secularized and sterilized it left me cold. I won't return.

Comment: When I said Merry Christmas, the reply was Happy Holidays. I asked if they were instructed to use the HH reply and the manager who was standing by, stepped in to tell me they use the HH greeting. I said then this is the last purchase I will make here. He just shrugged his shoulders.

Comment: I was in a local Pier 1, and they had "Christmas" all over the signage. I was very happy, and told the clerk all about it. I will contact Corprate today, and tell them I am very pleased, and that I will remain a loyal customer.

Comment: Just saw a commercial from Pier 1 on Nickelodeon. The "announcer" wished all a "happy Christmas" and the same wish appeared on the screen in bold letters. Refreshing.

Comment: Dozens of ornaments, trees, angels, pillows that included words such as "faith" and several items that displayed the nativity. While I don't recall seeing the actual word "Christmas" in the store, their focus clearly appeared to be Christ-centered.

Comment: While I find no mention of Christmas on most of the sale fliers from Black Friday, Pier 1's heading boldly declares, "Make Christmas Magic." As you click on the categories in their website, you see clever, beautiful, LARGE phrases like, "Light up like Christmas," "I'm dreaming of a black and white Christmas," "Christmas is in the air," and "Christmas is blooming." They are not simply calling it a Christmas Tree, they are intentionally incorporating the term Christmas in their advertising. Strikingly Christmas friendly.

Comment: Like Target, only one mention of Christmas on their website, nothing in their mailer or in their store. Better than years past, but not Christmas friendly!
